Adult Programs

The Museum of Indian Arts & Culture offers opportunities for life-long learning in Southwestern archaeology and Native American art. Through lecture series, short courses, and hands-on workshops, the museum's educators, curators, and research associates interpret Native American art, culture, and the incomparable collections of the Laboratory of Anthropology.

Breakfast with the Curators

This popular program provides an opportunity to meet curatorial staff and learn about Native American artists and arts through talks, tours of our exhibits, or behind the scenes visits with MIAC curators, scholars, and artists.

Reservations are required for all Breakfast with the Curators presentations. Tickets cost $40/$35 MNMF members; museum admission is included. Please call 505-476-1269 or visit MIAC in person (during business hours, M–F, 10am–5pm) to reserve your spot. Seating is limited. Please follow us on social media to see when the next Breakfast with the Curators is taking place!

Let's Take a Look!

12-2 pm Every Third Wednesday of the Month.

Free and open to the public

Do you have a Native object or artwork that you would like to know more about? Curatorial staff is available in the museum lobby to look at items you bring in, share information about them, and direct you to other resources if they cannot identify an object.

This monthly event is for informational purposes only. Please note that staff is not able to appraise objects or authenticate items for sale.

Weekend Lecture Series

Lectures are offered semi-monthly with topics related to our ongoing or upcoming exhibits, or other areas of interest. Talks are in the Museum theater, and seating is limited, so plan to arrive early. Lectures are free with museum admission. Museum admission is free for New Mexico residents with ID on the first Sunday of the month.

ElderWISE

Begun in the summer of 2004, the ElderWISE outreach program includes recurring monthly presentations at assisted living and retirement facilities in Santa Fe. These informal presentations on topics related to Native American art and culture are a fun, interactive way for seniors to learn about the Southwest's Native cultures and share their own knowledge, passion, and memories of Native art.
